REGULAR MEETING
                    April 3, 2012

CALL MEETING TO ORDER:  Vice-Chairperson FitzPatrick called the meeting to order at 7:55 pm

ROLL CALL
Members present:        Chairperson Macro, Commissioner FitzPatrick, Commissioner Pitcock,
Members absent:  Commissioner Klein, Commissioner Jennings
Alternates present:     Commissioner Evans, Commissioner Taylor
Alternates absent:      Commissioner Foley,

Commissioner Evans was appointed to sit for Commissioner Jennings.  Commissioner Taylor was appointed to sit for Commissioner Klein.

PUBLIC PARTICIPATION:  none

APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
  • Motion by Commissioner Pitcock, seconded by Commissioner Evans was made to approve the minutes of the Regular Meeting held on March 6, 2012.  The motion carried unanimously.
NEW BUSINESS:
•       Karl Reichle, Superintendent of Operations, for the town, presented his plans for new guardrails on either side of the bridge over the Podunk River. He showed pictures of the deterioration of the current post and wire guardrails and other new guardrails in town. The newer guardrails have been painted after a year of weathering. The Commission was grateful for his presentation to the HDC and expressed its approval of the concept and its preference for the sage green choice of paint.

•       Commissioner Pitcock moved, seconded by Commissioner Taylor, that the Chair write a letter to Mike Gantick, Director of Public Works, suggesting that guardrails throughout town should be consistent in color choice and further expressed a preference for the sage color. The motion was carried unanimously.

•       Commissioner Taylor moved, seconded by Commissioner Pitcock that a Certificate of Appropriateness be approved for the Macro application for the installation of solar panels at their home at 1828 Main Street as outlined in their application #01.12. The motion was approved unanimously.

OLD BUSINESS:
  • Chairperson Macro reported that she had relayed the new timeline for the Demolition Delay Ordinance to the Town Attorney. She did not have the schedule for a new Public Hearing.

 ADMINISTRATION:
  • The deadline for submission of proposals for the Historic Resources Inventory has been extended to April 4th. To date we have received three proposals that look very good. We will contact Mary Donohue after the 4th to review the proposals. The Chair will inform Commissioners of the date and time so they can attend.
ADJOURNMENT:
Commissioner FitzPatrick moved to adjourn the meeting at 9:10 pm; seconded by Commissioner Pitcock.  The motion carried unanimously.
